Asahi Shuzo Kubota Manjyu Junmai Daiginjo Sake - 720 ml

Introduction

Japan, Niigata Prefecture, Nagaoka City. Established in 1830, Asahi Shuzo is a historic brewery that believes the quality of sake cannot exceed the quality of its ingredients. They launched the iconic Kubota brand in 1985 to create a new profile of dry, crisp sake known as tanrei karakuchi.

Description

This Junmai Daiginjo displays a pristine, colourless appearance in the glass. The nose is sophisticated and floral, offering complex aromas of honeysuckle and tuberose alongside notes of Fuji apple and tart pear. On the palate, it reveals a plush, creamy texture with layers of savory umami and a medium body. The finish is exceptionally clean and crisp, disappearing quickly like morning mist. It is a perfectly balanced and elegant expression of the tanrei karakuchi style. ABV 15%.

Food Pairing

This sake pairs beautifully with premium sushi and sashimi, particularly rich cuts like chu-toro and uni. It also complements shellfish, steamed vegetables, and dishes like saltimbocca.
