Tamanohikari Gold Omachi Junmai Daiginjo Sake - 300 ml

Tamanohikari Gold Omachi Junmai Daiginjo originates from Fushimi, Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan. The Tamanohikari Sake Brewing Co., Ltd. was established in 1673 and has been under the leadership of the founding family for 13 generations. A pioneer in the industry, the brewery led the revival of the pure 'junmai' style in 1964, a commitment that remains central to their identity as they produce only junmai ginjo and junmai daiginjo grades.

Description

This ultra premium sake is clear in appearance and is crafted using 100% Bizen Omachi rice, one of Japan's oldest and rarest rice strains, polished flat to 50%. The aromatic profile is complex and fruity, featuring notes of cherry leaves, wild flowers, melon, and passion fruit with subtle hints of coconut. On the palate, it offers a full, well-rounded body with a delicate yet fatty texture and flavours of sweet rice, rich vanilla, and persimmon. It is characterized by a refined richness and a balanced acidity that leads to a crisp and clean finish. The alcohol content is 16.2%.

Food Pairing

The deep umami and rich profile of this Omachi sake make it a versatile partner for both traditional Japanese and European cuisines. It pairs naturally with sushi and sashimi, particularly fatty tuna or salmon, as well as lightly battered vegetable tempura. Its refined acidity also allows it to complement fish-based Italian and French dishes, smoked salmon, or soft, creamy cheeses like Brie and Camembert. For the best sensory experience, it is recommended to be served chilled to enhance its crispness and fruity Ginjo aromas.
