Lelarge-Pugeot is a certified biodynamic (Demeter) estate known for its "zero-zero" philosophy (no added sulfur, no filtration, and native yeast fermentation). This specific 2022 release is part of the family's "Project" series, representing their first attempt at a 100% Meunier still rosé.

Wine Description

This wine is a pure expression of Pinot Meunier grown in the clay and sand-rich soils of Vrigny, where the grape is celebrated as a star rather than a blending component.

• Vineyard Source: Fruit is sourced from the "La Côte des Glaises" lieu-dit, featuring old vines (over 70 years old) that produce tiny, highly concentrated clusters.

• Aromatic Profile: Highly aromatic and "high-toned." The nose offers an array of vibrant red fruits—watermelon, pomegranate, and wild strawberry—complemented by savory herbal notes of tarragon and a distinct briny salinity.

• Palate and Body: Medium-bodied with a texture that is surprisingly "punchy" and powerful despite its pretty, pale hue. It features a savory, umami-like quality and a crisp, mineral-driven finish.

• Winemaking: Crafted with minimal intervention. The wine underwent native fermentation and was aged for 12 months in neutral oak barrels before bottling with no added sulfur.
