E. Guigal 'La La La' 2021 - 3 Bottle Mixed Pack

The 'La La La' Mixed Pack comprises the three legendary single vineyard Côte-Rôtie wines from E. Guigal: 'La Landonne,' 'La Mouline,' and 'La Turque'. These wines hail from France, specifically the Northern Rhône Valley region, within the highly esteemed Côte-Rôtie appellation. E. Guigal, one of the world's most lauded producers, is an extraordinary, family-run négociant firm founded in 1946 by Étienne Guigal. The family's philosophy centres on purchasing only vineyards capable of producing truly great wines, and they are famous for their traditional approach of long ageing—up to three and a half years—in 100% new French oak barrels, which integrates tannins and creates wines of immense complexity and refinement.

Wine Description

The 'La La La' trio are all primarily Syrah-based wines from specific, steeply terraced parcels in the Côte-Rôtie appellation, known for their unique character derived from different soil compositions. They are aged for an exceptionally long 42 months in new French oak barrels.

  • La Landonne: 100% Syrah. Powerful and intense with aromas of blackberries, smoked meats, graphite, and dark plums. Features charred bark, earth, smoke, and baking spices. Full bodied, dense, and structured with firm, fine-grained tannins. Driven, ultra classic, concentrated, and built for long ageing. Optimal Drinking Window: Best from 2028 through 2045.

  • La Mouline: 89% Syrah, 11% Viognier. The most 'feminine' wine, offering ethereal floral aromas of violet, orange blossom, and rose petal, with red berries, fresh licorice, and mocha. Voluptuous, silky, and elegant with refined, velvety tannins. Silky, voluptuous, layered, and refined, with great balance and concentration. Optimal Drinking Window: Drinking Window 2028–2040.

  • La Turque: 93% Syrah, 7% Viognier. Displays a complex bouquet of dark fruits, spices, cinnamon, iris, and blackberries. Palate is full-bodied, concentrated, and firmly structured, with notes of smoked meats, gingerbread, and candied oranges. Full-bodied, concentrated, and structured with a powerful and elegant aromatic intensity. Optimal Drinking Window: Best from 2026 through 2040.

All three wines are made from Syrah, with the inclusion of Viognier in La Mouline and La Turque adding aromatic complexity.
