Clase Azul Dia De Los Muertos Aromas (2023 Limited Edicion)
Clase Azul Día de Muertos "Aromas" Añejo is an ultra-premium, limited-edition tequila from the country of Mexico. Released in late 2023, it is the third installment in the five-year "Nuestros Recuerdos" series. This specific expression, crafted by Master Distiller Viridiana Tinoco, is a sensory tribute to the distinct fragrances of the Day of the Dead, particularly the cempasúchil (marigold) flowers and copal incense that guide souls back to the world of the living.
Spirit Description
This Añejo tequila is aged for 25 months, beginning its maturation in American whiskey casks before undergoing a unique finishing process.
Finishing: The blend is finished for several months in Casks of Martinique Rhum (Rhum Agricole), a rare choice that adds earthy and herbal complexity to the sweet agave base.
Colour: Amber with copper reflections.
Aroma: An aromatic bouquet featuring peach, pear, and raisin, followed by candied orange peel, toasted walnut, and floral notes reminiscent of marigolds.
Palate: Smooth and robust. It delivers flavours of seasoned oak, clove, and cacao, balanced by the herbal, grassy sweetness characteristic of the rhum agricole finish.
Finish: Long and elegant with lingering traces of spice and dried fruit.
ABV: Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
The Decanter
The 2023 edition is housed in a handcrafted ceramic decanter that serves as a canvas for Mexican artistry.
Design: The decanter is finished in a deep marigold-orange glaze, transitioning into a dark, charcoal-like base.
Ornamentation: The exterior features hand-painted illustrations of cempasúchil flowers. It is adorned with a 24-karat gold-plated medallion depicting a skeleton figure amidst a field of marigolds, handcrafted by artisans from the Milma workshop.
Exclusivity: Production was limited to only 3,500 decanters worldwide.
