Vecchio Amaro del Capo Peperoncino (often referred to as the 'Red Hot Edition') is a premium spicy liqueur produced in the Calabria region of Italy. It is crafted by Distilleria F.lli Caffo, a family business with roots dating back to the end of the 19th century when Master Distiller Giuseppe Caffo began distilling on the slopes of Mt. Etna. Formally founded in 1915, the distillery is currently part of the Gruppo Caffo 1915, led by President Pippo Caffo and CEO Nuccio Caffo. This expression is a vibrant variation of the classic Del Capo, specifically formulated to highlight the heat of Calabrian chilli peppers.

This liqueur is created using a secret recipe that includes 29 different local herbs, flowers, fruits, and roots, with the addition of a 'perfectly calibrated' level of spicy chilli.

• Colour: The spirit presents a medium orange to amber appearance.

• Aroma: The nose is intense and aromatic, featuring notes of orange peel, anise, and cinnamon, alongside gingerbread and eucalyptus.

• Palate: It offers a silky texture with a complex flavour profile. Initial notes of candied ginger, gentian, and citrus transition into a dominating core of spicy cinnamon, floral bergamot, and cacao, all underscored by a persistent chilli heat.

• Body: Medium-bodied and well-balanced, the amaro melds sweetness and bitterness into a 'downright moreish' experience.

• Finish: The finish is long and lingering, leaving a warm memory of baking spices and spicy pepper.

• ABV: This spirit is bottled at 35%.
