Taylor Fladgate 1975 Single Harvest Port

Taylor Fladgate, established in 1692, is one of the oldest of the founding Port houses and has maintained a long, unbroken family tradition. Today, it is the namesake of the Fladgate Partnership, which remains 100% family-run and is dedicated entirely to the production of Port wine, setting a benchmark for Vintage Port.

Wine Description

It exhibits a deep amber-bronze colour with a luminous, jewel-like golden rim, reflecting its long cask ageing. The bouquet is complex and elegant, offering aromas of wild honey, molasses, and tea leaves, complemented by notes of red cherry compote, cedar cigar box, wild rosemary, thyme, and fresh mint. The palate has a sumptuous and velvety entry, unveiling rich flavours of blood orange marmalade, dried figs, apricots, rum baba, butterscotch, dates, and candied citrus.

Food Pairing

This Very Old Single Harvest Port pairs perfectly with desserts featuring figs, almonds, and caramel, such as crème brûlée. It is also an excellent match for hard, nutty cheeses like Parmesan and Manchego, or the rich intensity of a foie gras.
