Produttori del Barbaresco - Barbaresco 'Asili' Riserva??
This elegant red wine originates from the Barbaresco DOCG in the Piedmont region of Italy. The estate's history dates back to 1958, when the village priest and local growers united to safeguard the identity of the Nebbiolo grape and support the farming community. Today, the cooperative is composed of over fifty families who exclusively cultivate Nebbiolo across 120 hectares of premium vineyards, maintaining a philosophy of traditional winemaking and site-specific terroir expression.
Wine Description
The 'Asili' Riserva is a 100% Nebbiolo that displays a brilliant ruby red colour. Sourced from one of the region's most famous and refined vineyard sites, it is celebrated for its silky, mid-weight personality and high-toned elegance. The sensory profile features a complex bouquet of sweet red berries, primarily strawberry and tart cherry, layered with notes of crushed flowers, cedar, mint, and tobacco. On the palate, the wine is seamless and classy, offering vibrant acidity and firm yet fine tannins that lead to a long, graceful finish with hints of orange zest and delicate spices. It is fermented in stainless steel at 30°C for 24 days on the skins before aging for up to three years in large oak botti. While approachable in its youth, it possesses an optimal drinking window typically spanning 10 to 15 years, with the potential for further aging.
Food Pairing
The refined and silky nature of 'Asili' makes it an ideal companion for fresh egg pastas, mushroom risottos, and delicate white or red meats. It also pairs beautifully with game, venison, and matured cheeses such as Parmesan or Fontina. This pairing highlights the wine's depth and character.
