Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2018
This prestigious vintage Champagne originates from the Épernay sub-region of France. Pol Roger is one of the few remaining family-owned Grand Marques, famously celebrated as the favorite Champagne house of Sir Winston Churchill. Unlike the non-vintage Brut Réserve, the Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2018 is only produced in years where the harvest achieves exceptional ripeness and structural balance, reflecting the unique character of a single growing season.
Wine Description
The Pol Roger Brut Vintage 2018 presents a brilliant gold colour with a persistent, fine bead. The sensory profile is remarkably deep and gourmand, featuring an aromatic nose of ripe apricot, peach, and citrus zest, layered with sophisticated notes of fresh pastry, acacia honey, and toasted almonds. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and vinous, showcasing a firm structural backbone and a creamy texture that reflects its extended time on the lees. It is characterized by its powerful yet elegant presence, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish with hints of brioche and dried fruits. This traditional blend consists of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, sourced from 20 Grands and Premiers Crus in the Montagne de Reims and the Côte des Blancs. It has an ABV of 12.5% and was aged for over six years in the house's deep, cool cellars, the deepest in Épernay, before release.
