Pieropan Soave Classico 2024
Pieropan Soave Classico 2024 is a fresh, organic white wine from the hillside vineyards of the Soave Classico zone in Veneto, Italy.
The Pieropan family, pioneers of quality Soave since the early 1900s, manages over 60 hectares on volcanic and calcareous soils. Their entry-level Soave Classico is a benchmark for the region, reflecting a philosophy of tradition and purity. Despite a challenging 2024 growing season, the estate produced a wine noted for its vibrant energy and precise mineral character.
Wine Description
The 2024 vintage presents a brilliant pale lemon colour with greenish hints.
Aromas: The nose is delicate and perfumed, offering scents of almond blossoms, marzipan, and elderflower, alongside fresh fruit notes of pear, white peach, and zesty lime.
Palate: Smooth and medium-bodied, it balances a good fruit concentration with a "zingy" or "super-cool" acidity. It is characterized by savory mineral tones, a lightly chalky texture, and a long finish that often closes with a classic bitter almond note.
The blend typically consists of 85% Garganega and 15% Trebbiano di Soave, sourced from vines ranging from 6 to 60 years old. The grapes are hand-harvested, destemmed, and fermented at low temperatures in glass-lined concrete tanks. The wine remains on its fine lees for several months in these tanks before being bottled under a screw-cap to preserve its freshness. This 2024 release has an ABV of 12%.
