Kilkerran 8 Year Old is a cask-strength single malt Scotch whisky from the Campbeltown region. It is produced at the Glengyle Distillery, which was originally founded in 1872 by William Mitchell. After closing in 1925, the distillery was revived in 2004 by J & A Mitchell, owners of the nearby Springbank Distillery. The whisky is bottled under the name 'Kilkerran'—derived from the settlement 'Kinlochkilkerran'—because the rights to the Glengyle name were held elsewhere at the time of reopening.
