Noble Ridge Meritage 2022
The Noble Ridge Meritage originates from the Okanagan Falls subregion of the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, Canada. Founded by Jim and Leslie D’Andrea in 2001, the winery is named for the 'noble' grape varieties it produces and the prominent glacial ridge that divides its estate. The winemaking philosophy focuses on quality over quantity, utilizing small-lot, hands-on techniques and a gravity-fed cellar to preserve the authentic character and terroir of the vineyard.
Wine Description
This Meritage presents a deep garnet colour and offers explosive aromas of plush plum, dark cherry, and blackcurrant, accented by hints of graphite, dried sage, and cocoa. On the palate, the wine is supple and structured, showcasing a rich profile of field berries and black forest cake. It is a medium to full bodied red with fine-grained tannins and well-integrated oak from 12 months of aging in a combination of French and American barrels.
Food Pairing
This structured red blend pairs beautifully with hearty dishes such as shepherd's pie, pizza with rich toppings, and grilled meats like steak or lamb. It also complements savoury options such as a steak baguette with Dijon mayonnaise or roasted venison.
