Mayacamas Chardonnay 2022

Mayacamas Chardonnay is a mountain grown wine from the Mount Veeder subregion of Napa Valley in the United States. Established in 1889 by John Henry Fisher, the winery is one of Napa Valley's most historic estates and is famed for its stone cellar built from local materials. After decades of ownership by the Taylor and Travers families, the Schottenstein family purchased the property in 2013 and continues to uphold a winemaking philosophy rooted in classical traditions and the unique volcanic terroir of the site.

Wine Description

This 100% Chardonnay presents a pale gold hue and a sensory profile characterized by its non-malolactic, high-elevation style. The wine opens with lifted aromatics of chamomile, yuzu, and marzipan, accented by notes of honeyed citrus, orange blossom, and pencil shavings. On the palate, it is compact and layered, offering vibrant flavours of tangerine, white peach, and Bartlett pear supported by drive, energy, and secondary notes of bergamot and green cardamom. The wine is medium-bodied with a long, clean finish that lingers with orchard fruit, flint rock, and distinct salinity.
