Liquidity Dividend 2021

Introduction

This red wine originates from Canada, specifically from the Okanagan Falls subregion of the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia. Founded in 2008 by a group led by Ian Macdonald, Liquidity Wines is situated on the historic Allendale vineyard, which has been growing grapes since the 1970s. The winery's philosophy is centred on a fusion of passion and precision, often integrating contemporary art and design into the winemaking experience. In April 2020, the estate was acquired by Anthony von Mandl and joined the Iconic Wineries of British Columbia.

Wine Description

Liquidity Dividend displays a dark, deep, and rich red colour. The nose is expressive and complex, offering aromas of juicy red strawberry, liquorice, and freshly chopped fennel, alongside notes of bramble fruit and cedar. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and rich, delivering flavours of black cherry, raspberry leaf tea, and blackcurrant balanced by a juicy acidity and soft, elegant tannins. It is characterized by its Bordeaux-style power and finesse, leading to a lengthy and complex finish with smoky nuances. The varietal composition varies by vintage but typically features a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc; for instance, the 2019 vintage was a 45/40/15% blend of these varieties. The ABV generally ranges between 13.5% and 14.2%. As of the 2020 vintage, Liquidity vineyards are certified organic. The optimal drinking window is from release through several years, with recent vintages noted as being approachable in their youth.
