Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz 2022

Jip Jip Rocks Shiraz originates from the Padthaway region in South Australia. The winery is owned by the Bryson family, who have been involved in South Australian agriculture since 1855 and operate under the Morambro Creek umbrella. Their winemaking philosophy focuses on modern, minimal-intervention methods to ensure the final wines authentically reflect their unique regional character and the mineral-rich Terra Rossa soils of the estate.

Wine Description

This Shiraz presents a deep ruby black or violet colour in the glass. The aromatic profile is complex, featuring blackberry, eucalyptus, and dark chocolate, accented by notes of cedar, cinnamon, and Earl Grey tea. On the palate, the wine is rich and medium-full bodied with a supple, velvety texture and vibrant acidity. Flavours of ripe plum and mocha are supported by fine-grained tannins and well-integrated French and American oak, leading to a lingering finish with hints of black toast and spice.

Accolades

  • "James Suckling - 95 points"

  • "Wine Enthusiast - 91 points"

Food Pairing

The wine's robust structure and spiced dark fruit profile make it an ideal companion for roast beef, grilled ribeye steak, or lamb tagine. It also pairs exceptionally well with savoury, smoky dishes such as barbecued pork ribs or a wood-fired pizza topped with olives and feta.
