Ichiro's Malt & Grain World Whisky originates from the Chichibu region in the Saitama Prefecture of Japan. It was created by Ichiro Akuto, the founder of the Chichibu Distillery and Venture Whisky Ltd., whose family has been brewing sake since 1625. Established in 2008, Chichibu was the first new distillery in Japan in over three decades and is renowned for its traditional 'craft' approach, including on site floor malting and an in house cooperage.
Spirit Description
Known as the 'white label' expression, this spirit is a unique 'World Blended Whisky' that harmonizes young whiskies from the world's five major whisky producing regions: Scotland, Ireland, Canada, the USA, and Japan. It presents a pale gold colour with a medium body and a smooth, oily texture. The aroma is fresh and floral, featuring notes of apricot, Meyer lemon zest, vanilla cream, and a hint of toffee. On the palate, it is well balanced and approachable, delivering flavours of roasted chestnut, gingerbread, and malted barley with a subtle citrus sweetness. The finish is clean and persistent, marked by a gentle peppery spice and lingering honeyed fruit. It is bottled at 46.5% ABV, non chill filtered, and contains no artificial colouring.
