Highwood White Rum – 1.14 Litre
Highwood White Rum is produced in Canada, within the region of Alberta and the subregion of High River. It is crafted by Highwood Distillers, an independently owned family distillery nestled in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. The spirit is a "Canadian-Caribbean" fusion; it is distilled from sugarcane molasses in Guyana (predominantly a Demerara blend) and imported as high-proof neutral alcohol. Upon arrival in Alberta, it is aged, blended with pure Rocky Mountain water, and filtered to achieve its clear appearance.
Spirit Description
Highwood White Rum is designed primarily as a smooth, approachable mixer rather than a sipping rum.
Aging & Filtration: It is aged for at least one year (and up to three years, according to some reports) in ex-bourbon oak barrels. A specialized filtration process then removes the colour while retaining subtle barrel characteristics.
Nose: Light and fragrant, featuring notes of cotton candy, brown sugar, and faint tropical fruit, with underlying hints of coconut and a slight medicinal edge.
Palate: Soft and lightly oily with a mild sweetness. It displays flavours of caramel, vanilla, and light candy, along with flashes of mint and a gentle alcohol tingle.
Finish: Smooth, clean, and relatively short, leaving a sweetened palate with a touch of vanilla and oak.
Technical Details: Bottled at 40% ABV (80 proof).
