Hahn Chardonnay 2024
Hahn Family Wines is a family owned estate located in the Santa Lucia Highlands of Monterey County, California. Founded in 1980 by Nicky and Gaby Hahn, the winery was instrumental in establishing the Santa Lucia Highlands as a premier American Viticultural Area (AVA) in 1991. The Hahn winemaking philosophy focuses on producing expressive, cool climate wines that highlight the unique terroir of their estate vineyards, characterized by rocky, well drained soils and maritime influences from Monterey Bay.
Wine Description
This Chardonnay displays a bright, light gold appearance and opens with an aromatic bouquet of tropical fruit, citrus peel, and vanilla. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied with a creamy texture, offering vibrant flavours of pineapple, stone fruit, and Meyer lemon, complemented by subtle notes of honeysuckle, butter, and toasty oak. The finish is clean and lingering, marked by a touch of baking spice and refreshing acidity. Typically crafted from 100% Chardonnay, the wine undergoes secondary malolactic fermentation and aging in French oak to achieve its signature balance of richness and brightness. It is best enjoyed within three to five years of the vintage to preserve its fresh fruit character.
