The Glenlivet 12 Year Old is produced in the Speyside region of Scotland, within the Livet Valley. Founded in 1824 by George Smith, it was the first distillery in the region to be granted a legal license. To celebrate its 200th anniversary in 2024, the distillery launched a series of "bold and original" innovations that have continued into 2026, including the 200 Year Anniversary Limited Edition 12 Year Old and the new "Beyond Speyside" series.
Spirit Description
The core 12 Year Old, known as the "Double Oak," represents the distillery’s signature smooth and fruity style.
Maturation: It is aged for 12 years in a combination of traditional European oak and American oak casks, which impart vanilla notes and a distinct smoothness.
Appearance: Bright, vibrant gold.
Nose: Fruity and summery, with aromas of fresh pineapple, apricot, citrus blossom, and honeyed malt.
Palate: Well-balanced and buttery with a silky texture. Dominant flavours include ripe pear, green apple, and strong pineapple, layered with vanilla and hazelnut.
Finish: Long and creamy with a soft crackle of oaky spice.
Technical Details: Bottled at 40% ABV.
