Glen Breton Rare 21 Year Old Whisky

Glen Breton Rare 21 Year Old is a distinctive Canadian single malt whisky crafted in the region of Nova Scotia, Canada. It is produced by Glenora Inn & Distillery, which was founded in 1990 by Bruce Jardine with the vision of creating North America's first single malt whisky in the Scottish tradition. The distillery is situated in Glenville on Cape Breton Island and uses pure water from MacLellan’s Brook, which tumbles out of the Mabou Highlands and runs through the distillery grounds. The whisky-making philosophy honours tradition, using only barley, yeast, and water, while the maturing whisky gains character from the local terroir of the Cape Breton Highlands, which is rich with apple, maple, and spruce trees.

Whisky Description

This single malt whisky presents a light gold colour. The aroma is complex and layered, featuring notes of vanilla, honeycomb, dried orchard fruits like baked apple and apricot, as well as soft citrus and a light floral touch. On the palate, the whisky is rich and full-bodied. Flavours include toffee, butterscotch, wild apples, toasted oak, leather, hay, and a hint of maple. The barley flavour is prominently featured, harmoniously integrated with layers of barrel flavour from the aging in American oak barrels.
