Garzon Reserva Albarino 2024
This premium white wine originates from the Maldonado region of Uruguay, situated a mere 18 kilometres from the Atlantic Ocean. Bodega Garzón is a family-owned estate founded by Alejandro Bulgheroni and his wife Bettina, who transformed a 700-hectare olive farm into a pioneering viticultural project. Under the guidance of renowned consultant oenologist Alberto Antonini, the winery focuses on producing terroir-driven wines that reflect the estate's ancient granitic soils, some of the oldest on the planet. The winery itself is a global leader in sustainability, having been the first in the world to earn LEED certification for its entire facility.
Wine Description
The Garzón Reserva Albariño presents a brilliant pale yellow colour with subtle greenish reflections. The nose is highly expressive, featuring a bouquet of white peach, citrus fruit, and jasmine, layered with honeyed notes and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied with an unctuous, creamy texture derived from three to six months of aging on fine lees in stainless steel and cement tanks. It displays a vibrant core of acidity balanced by saline minerality and flavours of lemon and green mango. The finish is long and refreshing, marked by a characteristic stony persistence.
