Diplomatico Planas Rum
Diplomático Planas is a unique, aged white rum produced in Venezuela at the foot of the Andes Mountains. It is named after the "Planas" valley, a region whose specific microclimate and fertile lands contribute to the rum's distinct character. Unlike standard white rums that are often unaged, Planas is a blend of pot still, column still, and batch kettle distillates aged for up to six years. It is then carefully charcoal-filtered up to six times to remove the colour while retaining the complex flavours and oily texture acquired during maturation.
Spirit Description
This rum is crystal clear in appearance, though its heavy viscosity is often visible on the glass. The nose is surprisingly intense for a white rum, offering fresh and tropical aromas of coconut flakes, ground coffee, and a hint of lemon zest. On the palate, it delivers a rich, creamy mouthfeel with bold flavours of toffee, vanilla, and overripe banana, balanced by a subtle herbaceous zing and white pepper.
