Champagne Gremillet Brut Selection
Produced in France, this award winning grower Champagne originates from the Aube region, specifically from vineyards situated in the southern reaches of Troyes. The Gremillet estate was founded by Jean-Michel Gremillet in 1979, beginning with a small inheritance of vines and growing into a prestigious family run house now led by the second generation. The winery’s philosophy focuses on capturing the essence of 'success' and authenticity, utilizing sun drenched hillside vineyards to achieve a richer fruit profile than typically found in more northern reaches of the region.
Wine Description
This non-vintage Champagne presents a pretty, pale golden yellow colour rippling with fine and persistent bubbles. The nose is a lively alliance of floral and fruity notes, featuring acacia, hawthorn, peach, pear, and apricot, layered with characteristic sweet doughy overtones and brioche. On the palate, it is pleasant and refreshing, displaying a nice balance of acidity and maturity with flavours of baked biscuit, peach skin, and toasted spice. This medium bodied wine is composed of 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay, utilizing only the 'cuvée' (first pressing) and aged on the lees for at least 18 to 22 months. It offers a clean, elegant finish with a crisp citrus lift.
