Borgogno Barolo Chinato – 500 ml
This aromatic and historical digestif originates from Italy, specifically within the Piedmont region and the renowned Barolo DOCG area. Giacomo Borgogno e Figli, established in 1761, is one of the oldest and most traditional wineries in the Langhe. The winery's philosophy is deeply rooted in the preservation of local customs, and this Barolo Chinato is produced according to a secret family recipe that has been handed down for generations, utilizing the estate's high quality Barolo as the foundation.
Description
Borgogno Barolo Chinato presents a deep garnet red colour with amber reflections. The sensory profile is exceptionally intense and multifaceted, featuring a dominant nose of cinchona bark (china), cinnamon, and cloves, which are layered with sophisticated notes of mountain herbs, cardamom, and dried orange peel. On the palate, the wine is full bodied and velvety, showcasing a perfect balance between the initial sweetness and the characteristic bitter finish of the medicinal herbs. It is characterized by its remarkable warmth and persistence, leaving a long, aromatic trail of cocoa and spices. This wine is composed of 100% Nebbiolo from the Barolo DOCG, fortified and aromatized with a cold infusion of herbs and spices. It has an ABV of 16.5%. While produced with traditional integrity, it is not certified as organic.
