Bodegas Venta la Vega 'Adaras Lluvia' White Blend 2022

Adaras Lluvia White Blend 2022 is produced in the Almansa region of southeastern Spain.

The wine is crafted by Bodegas Venta la Vega, an estate comprising over 850 hectares of ecological farmland situated at the foothills of the El Mugrón mountains. The winery operates with a philosophy of minimal intervention and sustainability, utilizing the unique microclimates found at altitudes reaching 1,200 metres above sea level to farm without chemical treatments. Owned by MG Wines, the estate is known for holding the largest continuous plot of organic agricultural property in the European Union.

Wine Description

This organic white blend displays a pale straw yellow colour that is notably clean and bright. The aromatic profile is intense and fresh, featuring tropical fruit notes such as passion fruit and pineapple, alongside scents of citrus, green apple, and white flowers. On the palate, the wine is medium bodied and balanced, offering flavours of stone fruit, lime, and kiwi. It is defined by a steely minerality and a long, fresh finish.

The 2022 vintage is a blend of 50% Sauvignon Blanc and 50% Verdejo, though some bottlings may vary slightly in composition. The grapes are harvested at night to preserve acidity and undergo a cool fermentation followed by 4 to 5 months of aging on the lees to enhance texture. This wine has an ABV of 12.5% and is certified both organic and vegan.

Food Pairing

The crisp acidity and tropical profile of this blend make it a versatile partner for seafood dishes, including fish tacos, grilled prawns, or seafood crudités. It also pairs effectively with Mexican cuisine, such as chicken enchiladas, and light vegetarian fare like seasonal salads or vegetable frittatas. Additionally, it complements tangy cheeses such as goat cheese or feta.
