Bladnoch 30 Year Old Lowland Single Malt Scotch

Produced in Scotland’s Lowlands, Bladnoch is the southernmost distillery in the country, located in Galloway. Established in 1817, the distillery has a rich history and was revitalised in recent decades under new ownership. Bladnoch is renowned for crafting refined single malts that showcase elegance, balance, and the unique terroir of the Lowlands.

Description

This exceptional 30-year-old single malt was matured in a combination of ex-Oloroso and ex-Moscatel sherry casks, resulting in a whisky of remarkable depth and character. The colour is a deep golden amber, reflecting its long maturation. On the nose, aromas of dried apricots, nutmeg, Seville orange zest, and delicate floral notes emerge. The palate is layered with marzipan, almonds, and citrus tones, underscored by a subtle sweetness and nutty richness. The body is elegant yet full, leading to a finish that is light, floral, and lingering with a gentle peppery warmth.

Food Pairing

Pair this whisky with roasted duck breast, dark chocolate truffles, or a rich almond tart. The savoury depth of the duck enhances the whisky’s spice and citrus tones, while desserts highlight its nutty and sherried layers.
