Spirit Description

This rum is a blend of pot and column still distillates, meticulously managed from "cane to cup" at the Appleton Estate, which has been distilling since 1749. It is matured for eight years in the tropical Jamaican climate—where rum ages approximately three times faster than in cooler regions—before undergoing a unique finishing period.

  • Maturation: Aged for a minimum of eight years in Number One American white oak bourbon barrels, then finished in barrels that previously held Dr. Joy Spence's favourite 18 Year Old Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

  • Colour: Brilliant honeyed bronze with a subtle green ring of ageing.

  • Aroma: A bouquet of spiced fruit, dried raisins, and vanilla, balanced by the distillery’s signature orange peel note and a hint of honey.

  • Palate: Smooth and rich with layers of caramel, orange, honeyed nuts, and sweet vanilla. Some tasters note hints of peat, scotch tones, and leather from the single malt cask.
