Anakena Nuna Cabernet Sauvignon 2023

Introduction

Anakena Nuna Cabernet Sauvignon is a red wine from the Central Valley region of Chile. Viña Anakena was founded in 1999 by childhood friends Felipe Ibáñez and Jorge Gutiérrez in the Alto Cachapoal area, situated in the foothills of the Andes Mountains. In 2015, the winery was acquired by Accolade Wines, which has continued the founders' original goal of crafting innovative, New World wines that reflect the unique potential of Chile's volcanic soils. The name 'Nuna' is derived from the ancient Quechua word for 'soul', reflecting a philosophy of expressing the authentic spirit of the land.

Wine Description

This Cabernet Sauvignon presents an intense ruby red colour with garnet or deep purple hues. The sensory profile features a bold aromatic bouquet of blackberry, cassis, and ripe plum, layered with notes of gentle spice and subtle vanilla. On the palate, it is medium to full bodied and smooth, offering flavours of ripe dark cherries and forest berries complemented by a whisper of toasted oak. The wine is characterized by an excellent balance of ripe, firm tannins and bright acidity, leading to a long and persistent finish.
