Amiral De Beychevelle 2010

Introduction

Serving as the second label of the historic Fourth Growth estate Château Beychevelle, it is crafted with the same meticulous sorting and traditional barrel ageing techniques as the Grand Vin. The winery's philosophy emphasizes elegance and finesse, a legacy dating back to the 16th century when ships passing the estate on the Gironde would 'lower their sails' (Baisse-Voile) in respect for the owner, the Duke of Épernon.

Wine Description

The 2010 vintage displays a deep, intense red colour with subtle purple reflections. The nose is highly expressive, opening with a rich bouquet of blackcurrant, blackberry, and dark cherry, accented by floral notes of violet, spices, and a hint of fresh tobacco. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied and succulent, featuring a deep structure supported by noble, velvety tannins and remarkable freshness. This classic Bordeaux blend is composed of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Merlot, offering a generous and balanced profile. Stylistically, it combines power with an elegant, silky mouthfeel and a long finish. While it can be enjoyed now, this vintage possesses a significant drinking window extending through 2033.
