Alois Lageder Misto Mare 2024

Product image 1

Alois Lageder Misto Mare 2024

This innovative and "dynamic" white blend originates from Italy, specifically from the Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT in the Alto Adige region. Launched in 2024, Misto Mare (meaning "Mixed Sea") serves a unique purpose: it is a "gateway" wine created for the winery's new partners who are currently in the three-year process of transitioning to organic and biodynamic certification. While all of Alois Lageder's established estate and partner vineyards became 100% certified organic/biodynamic with the 2024 harvest, this label allows them to support and collaborate with vintners still in the "waiting period".

Wine Description

Alois Lageder Misto Mare is a unique field blend of over 14 to 20 different grape varieties, including both white and red grapes, co-fermented and vinified as a white wine. The wine presents a straw-yellow hue, sometimes with a delicate blush. Its sensory profile is multi-faceted and "animating," featuring a nose of fuzzy peach, jasmine, and citrus zest, layered with floral notes and a subtle saline minerality. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and fresh, showcasing a "silky texture" and a moderate, integrated acidity that leads to a juicy, long finish. Matured primarily in stainless steel, with a portion resting on the lees for three months to add depth without masking its energetic mountain fruit.
